Meet Aseel Abu Jabal, Arab-Israeli delegation

"A mind that is stretched by a new experience, can never go back to its old dimensions." Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.
Hey there everyone!
My name is Aseel AbuJabal and I was born on April 14th 2000, so, you can do the Math.
Aseel is a person that loves to be unique and to be different from everyone else, because where's the fun in being like everyone else?! but I do not try to be different in everything, to be perfectly honest. Besides, I'm a positive person, I try to see the bright side in everything. In addition, I like to collect quotes about different stuff. As for my hobbies, I really like playing basketball, reading books - I actually read whatever comes in my hands, whether it was a magazine, a book, a newspaper and really whatever my eyes catch. Also, I like watching movies, my favorite is The Twilight Saga, listening to music, my favorite singer is Taylor Swift, and I truly like to write stories. In fact, I dream about being a writer in the future. So, the reason I'm joining the peace camp is the desire to have peace in this world, I'm so fed up with the wars, I'm so eager to stop those tragedies all over the world, I'm looking forward to having new experiences and beautiful memories and, not to mention that I'm excited for visiting Austria. What I expect from this "journey" is to make new friends, have a great time and I expect it to be unforgettable!
With love;
Aseel AbuJabal
See ya soon,

Meet Markus Priller, workshop Talks4peace

Source: Markus.jpg

My name is Markus Priller. I was born in Switzerland and grew up in South Tirol, Italy, where after several decades of struggle, three different language groups now live together peacefully. I studied history and film science, but after a short career as a scientist I realized that I prefer working with people and began conducting peace projects in both Austria and abroad. In the last two years I have been working in a school project for the Austrian Red Cross. Focus of my work was to foster understanding and empathy for the situation of refugees and people of different cultural backgrounds. I am looking forward to meeting you all and being part of the great peace camp experience 2016.

Meet Alexandra Lux, workshop Talks4peace

Source: Alexandra.JPG

Hi everybody!

I´m Alexandra Lux. We will meet in Talks4Peace and I´m really looking forward to that. I met Evelyn and Ronny many years ago through Markus (who´s also part of our team). I visited Peacecamp several times and this year is the 4th one where I work with the group.
I´m an Austrian high school teacher for Mathematics and History. I´m interested in working on the issue of finding ways of living peacefully together (with having historical developments in mind) and I´m interested in working with students.
In previous Peacecamps I found it always very enriching to learn about different point of views from the students, getting a little insight in the challenges of their daily lives and their opinions about peace issues. It´s a gift to see how the time at Peacecamp itself and sometimes even our work there have some impact on their opinions and their lives. And I´m pretty sure that this year will be a very special experience for all of us again.
I´ll participate only part-time in Talks4Peace actively as Markus and I have our little son with us. His name is Aaron, he´s 3 years old (3 years and 4 months to be precise ;-) and it´s his 4th Peacecamp now, too. He loves playing football, hide and seek, making fun, talking, singing… He´s usually a little shy in the beginning and needs time to warm up. It´s even likely that he will scream at you and bluster. That´s his way at the moment to deal with new situations and means he is a little bit frightened and doesn´t know how what do do. Not such a big difference of how some adults behave in situations that frighten them. So don´t hesitate if you´d like to play with him, just keep it rolling and help him to learn that strangers can become friends! Oh yes, he loves words and talking and singing! Would be fantastic if he´d learn some words or songs in different languages from you :-)
See you soon!
Alexandra
P.S. I´m already so much looking forward to see your videos!!!!
