Meet Sarah Magesacher, Austrian delegation

Source: Sarah_F.jpg

Hallo everyone, my name is Sarah.
I'm 17 years old and I live near vienna. I have a younger brother named Max.
My hobbies are drawing, painting and any other method to create a good looking picture ;) I love reading, books and comics alike. I love music, its one of my hobbies, although I can't play an intrument... or sing very well but that does not stop me from singing. :P As for sports I do horse back riding regularly, I like to ski and go ice skating in the winter and swinmig and mountain climbing in the summer. I also like meeting new people from different countries, and talking with them.
That's one of the reasons I wanted to join the peacecamp. I'd like to live in a peaceful world, (not just in a peaceful country) and I hope that, with attending this projekt, I can get one step closer to that goal.
I'm looking forward to meeting you guys.
Until summer :)

Assignments for the workshop talks4peace

PEACECAMP 2016: Two assignments for the Palestinian group as a preparation for TALKS4PEACE

(1) MAKE A SHORT VIDEO WITH YOUR GROUP ABOUT VIOLENCE & DISCRIMI-NATION ISSUES IN YOUR COMMUNITY AND YOUR IDEAS FOR A BETTER & MORE PEACEFUL FUTURE (MAX. 5`, ENGLISH OR ENGLISH SUBTITLES).
- Which forms of violence/discrimination/disrespect/repression are noticeable in our community? Against whom are they directed?
- Which improvements would be desirable? Which first step could each of us take in order to contribute to a more peaceful/pleasant life for all of us?

We are interested in your personal views! Discuss about these questions in your group, then make a plan what to show in your video and how to use all your creativity ….
The videos will be shown and discussed at the peacecamp 2016.

(2) MAKE ONE GROUP POSTER (maybe with photos and/or drawings) SHOWING HOW IT IS TO BE A PALESTINIAN TEENAGER TODAY

What does it mean to us to be Palestinians (coexisting with Jewish Israelis)?
What makes us proud or happy about being Palestinians? What do we regard as special about our national culture and historical heritage? What can we offer for a future world in peace? What advantages and what opportunities do we see in living side-by-side with the Jewish Israelis? What kind of future with the Jewish Israelis of our generation do we hope for? How would peace look like? (More than absence of war!?)
Discuss about these questions in your group, then make a plan what to show on your poster (maybe with photos and/or drawings?) using all your creativity ….
